Royal Burgh of St Andrews Community Council

There will be a Monthly Meeting on Monday 1st June, 1998, in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall immediately following the Inaugural Meeting held at 7 p.m. and specified in the Agenda from Fife Council.

Following the practice of the previous Council, the agenda would be:

1. Apologies.

2. Submissions from members of the public.

3. Minutes of the Council meeting of 4th May, 1998.

4. Matters arising.

5. Correspondence:

(a) Association of Scottish Community Councils.

Papers have been received for the A.G.M. to be held in Edinburgh on June 13th at 10.30, (other documents were received last month, but held over).

(b) Commission on Local Government and the Scottish Parliament.

A meeting with the Commission is to be held in Glenrothes on June 3rd at 4.15. The Council is invited to send a representative. (As the reply had to be in by May 29th it has been sent already). (There has previously been a request for a written response by June 30th. This has been held over from last month).

(c) Beautiful Scotland in Bloom.

The Council was asked to nominate two representatives to meet the judges but this was held over from last month.

(d) Local Holidays.

A list of proposed local holidays for 1999 has been received, with a request for comments.

(e) Reception.

Mrs. Stewart-Meiklejohn has sent a letter thanking the Council for the reception given in her honour.

(f) Rural Forum

Various circulars have been received.

(g) Christmas Lights.

A firm of lighting manufacturers, "Wonderland" has sent publicity.
